Malkajgiri CP calls for power and water conservation

Hyderabad: Malkajgiri Police Commissioner B Sumathi has directed all police stations and offices under the commissionerate to conserve electricity and water in view of the possibility of drought conditions triggered by the El Niño effect.
In a special memo issued to all officers, the Commissioner called for the responsible use of natural resources and instructed police personnel to avoid unnecessary consumption of electricity and water.
She directed officials to minimise the use of electric lights during morning hours, restrict the use of air conditioners and other electrical appliances, and switch off lights and equipment whenever offices are unoccupied.
She also stressed the need to prevent water wastage and ensure its judicious use.
Sumathi further warned that negligence in implementing the conservation measures would invite action. She emphasised that police personnel should lead by example by adopting responsible practices and encouraging the public to follow suit.
It is learnt that several police stations and offices across the commissionerate have already put the Commissioner’s instructions into practice.
