Political Showdown: Rahul Gandhi Leads Opposition's Charge Against CEC Ahead of Delhi Mega Rally

India's political battle over alleged vote theft and irregularities in the Special Intensive Revision (SIR) of electoral rolls has intensified, with the Congress-led opposition preparing for a major show of strength in Delhi. Ahead of the opposition's mega rally at Ramlila Maidan, tensions between the INDIA bloc and the BJP have escalated, with both sides launching sharp attacks against each other. Congress leader Rahul Gandhi has appealed to INDIA bloc parties to participate in the rally, where opposition leaders are expected to raise concerns over alleged electoral irregularities and demand accountability from the Election Commission. The opposition is also organising a public impeachment-style programme against Chief Election Commissioner Gyanesh Kumar, accusing the poll body of failing to address concerns surrounding voter list revisions. The programme, scheduled to take place at Congress President Mallikarjun Kharge's residence at 10 Rajaji Marg in Delhi, was postponed from the previous day due to rainfall. Former Lok Sabha Speaker Meira Kumar is expected to chair the event, while Kharge will present the public impeachment proposal and Rahul Gandhi will deliver the concluding address. Leaders from various opposition parties are expected to participate and present their arguments. Meanwhile, the BJP has intensified its counterattack ahead of the mega rally by organising 'Save Democracy, Remove Anarchy' marches across several cities under the leadership of Union Ministers. Home Minister Amit Shah has also criticised Rahul Gandhi, accusing him of blaming the umpire after losing a political match. With the opposition preparing a massive demonstration and the BJP launching counter-campaigns, the confrontation over SIR, electoral transparency and the Election Commission has entered another intense phase, putting the spotlight on the INDIA bloc's campaign and the country's political landscape.
