INDIA bloc holds CEC’s ‘public impeachment’ at Kharge residence
New Delhi: The INDIA bloc began the ‘public impeachment’ of Chief Election Commissioner (CEC) Gyanesh Kumar on Saturday, October 31, over the alleged irregularities in the Special Intensive Revision (SIR) of the electoral rolls.
With the ‘impeachment’ being held at his residence on Rajaji Marg, Congress chief Mallikarjun Kharge moved the ‘motion’ while former Lok Sabha Speaker Meira Kumar presided over the proceedings.

Speaker after speaker bashed the BJP-led NDA at the Centre as well as the CEC for ‘vote chori’.
This comes a day before the INDIA bloc’s mega rally at Delhi’s Ramlila Maidan as part of an ongoing protest against the CEC. For the November 1 rally, groups such as the Cockroach Janta Party have extended support to the INDIA bloc.
