Watch: Actor shuts door on director after heated exchange

Islamabad: A video of Pakistani actor Sheheryar Munawar seemingly losing his cool with director Sohail Javed is going viral on social media. While the exchange looks serious, the duo had already revealed that it was staged.

In the clip, which is old and now resurfacing, Sheheryar appears to refuse to read a script brought by Sohail. The director reminds him about their contract, while the actor asks him to leave. The tense exchange ends with Sheheryar shutting the door after Sohail walks out.

Following the attention the video received in April 2023, Sheheryar shared a clarification on Instagram. Addressing viewers, he explained that reading their comments had prompted him to speak about the incident.

“I’m sorry that as a society we only want to see negative things and promote the same things and make them viral,” he said.

The camera then widened to reveal Sohail sitting beside him. The director questioned why viewers complained about negative content in dramas and films while helping similar content gain attention online.

The two clarified that the argument was a publicity stunt connected to their upcoming project about a writer. Their explanation also highlighted how quickly an apparent confrontation could attract attention.

With the clip circulating again, that earlier clarification puts the supposed clash into perspective: it was a planned performance, not a real fallout between the actor and director.
