Hyderabad: The Hyderabad Traffic Police have booked 3,619 motorists for using phones while driving in the last five months, from April 26 to October 31 2026.

Among all offenders, 3,469 were two-wheeler riders, 46 were three-wheeler drivers, and 104 were four-wheeler drivers. “Using mobile phones while driving causes distraction, slows reaction time and increases the risk of road accidents,” the traffic police said in a statement.

Joint Commissioner of Police (Traffic) D Joel Davis said the traffic police follow a zero-tolerance policy towards mobile phone usage while driving and will continue special enforcement drives regularly.
He appealed to motorists to strictly follow traffic rules and avoid using mobile phones while driving to ensure the safety of all road users.
