Image: ABP Live

A serious helicopter collision has been reported in Nepal's Mount Everest region, leaving one Indian national dead and three people injured. According to the report, the accident occurred at around 8:11 AM when two private helicopters collided just a few feet above the ground while attempting to land at the same location. The deceased has been identified as 47-year-old Indian national Vasant Kumar Balra. An injured tourist of Indian origin who holds New Zealand citizenship and the helicopters' pilots were also reported among those injured. Visuals from the accident site show a red and a blue helicopter approaching from different directions before their rotor blades collide during landing, causing damage and panic among people nearby. The incident has raised serious questions about how two helicopters were reportedly allowed to land at the same spot at the same time. Nepal's Civil Aviation Authority has not yet clarified the circumstances behind the landing arrangements. According to the local report, the helicopters may have been heading towards the Everest Base Camp area to assist stranded people, but this detail has not been officially confirmed.
