Hyderabad: The Hyderabad Disaster Response and Assets Protection Agency (HYDRAA) on Monday, November 2, sealed seven illegal borewells in Tellapur.

The agency cracked down on the borewells after they were found to have been drilled illegally in Sangareddy district. HYDRAA also demolished six water sumps and seized water tankers after registering cases.

Apart from protecting groundwater, the agency is keeping a close watch on unauthorised borewell drilling to ensure that local residents do not face difficulties in accessing water.

Meanwhile, several people have expressed concern over rash driving by water tankers and the arbitrary sale of water.
