Telecom firm Jio Platforms, which made its stock market debut last month, reported a consolidated net profit of Rs 8,387 crore in the September quarter of the ongoing fiscal year (Q2 FY27), up 14% from Rs 7,379 crore in the year-ago period.
Its revenue from operations rose 11% to Rs 40,475 crore, compared to Rs 36,332 crore a year earlier, on the back of healthy subscriber additions, higher average revenue per user (ARPU) and growth in other digital businesses.
Sequentially, profit increased 8% to Rs 7,764 crore, while operating revenue rose 3% to Rs 39,173 crore.
Mukesh Ambani’s Jio also earned other income of Rs 978 crore during the quarter, taking its total income to Rs 41,453 crore.
Key operational updates
According to its investor presentation, Meta- and Google-backed Jio added 9.1 million subscribers during the quarter, taking its total customer base to 542.4 million. The telco also extended its lead in India’s 5G subscriber base with 300 million users as of September 2026, up 66 million over the last 12 months. The company claims to be the world’s largest 5G operator outside China.
Jio’s monthly data use per customer climbed to 44.2 GB in Q2 FY27 from 38.7 GB in Q2 FY26. Monthly ARPU increased further to Rs 218.8 in Q2 FY27, with promotional schemes for fixed broadband customers offsetting a better subscriber mix and increased usage.
Jio ended the July-September quarter of FY27 with 30 million fixed broadband subscribers, of whom 15.1 million were Jio AirFiber subscribers.

“We warmly welcome our new shareholders to the Jio Platforms family as we enter a new era as a listed company. This quarter’s results continue to reflect the strength of our 5G network, and the growing reach of our broadband and digital services,” said Akash Ambani, managing director, Jio Platforms.
He added that the company remains ahead of the investment curve on next-generation tech and will continue to build its capabilities across satellite communications and 6G intellectual property, while embedding AI in its core voice and data services to create lasting value for all stakeholders.
