Food safety authorities in Uttar Pradesh have intensified raids against alleged food adulteration ahead of Diwali to prevent contaminated sweets and dairy products from reaching consumers. In Hapur's Dhaulana area, a Food Safety Department team raided a mawa factory in Lalpur village and recovered approximately 1,600 kg of suspected adulterated khoya. The stock was destroyed on the spot and its estimated value was around ₹3.2 lakh. Samples were also collected and sent to a laboratory for testing. In Kanpur, officials intercepted more than 2,200 kg of suspected adulterated khoya allegedly brought from Firozabad and Etawah for distribution. The seized stock was destroyed. In Rampur's Shahabad area, authorities uncovered an alleged operation manufacturing fake milk and khoya under the cover of a mango orchard. Meanwhile, action in Muzaffarnagar exposed suspected adulteration in sweets during the festive season. The coordinated enforcement drive has put alleged adulteration networks across the state under pressure. Authorities are continuing inspections to curb the sale of unsafe food products during the Diwali rush.
