JDU Crisis: Nitish Kumar Calls Major Meeting After Poor MLC Election Results

The Janata Dal (United) has called a major meeting at its Patna office following its poor performance in the recent Bihar MLC elections and growing internal differences. Chief Minister Nitish Kumar, Sanjay Jha and other senior leaders are expected to attend. The party contested four seats but won only the Patna Graduates’ constituency, where Neeraj Kumar emerged victorious. Disputes involving independent MLC Anand Singh, who was accused by the party of campaigning for a Jan Suraaj candidate, have added to the tensions. Anand Singh has been expelled from the JDU for six years, and the party has approached the Assembly Speaker seeking action against his membership. In an interview with ABP News, Anand Singh denied wrongdoing and said the party should clearly explain his alleged mistakes. He claimed that his disputes with Neeraj Kumar were behind his actions during the MLC election. Addressing the Dularchand murder case, Singh maintained that he was around three kilometres away from the spot and said he would comply with the legal process. He also said he would consult supporters before deciding whether to contest any possible by-election. Singh reaffirmed his loyalty to Nitish Kumar.
