Hyderabad: The Panjagutta police have busted an alleged prostitution racket operating under the guise of a beauty salon and spa at Nagarjuna Circle and arrested a 32-year-old woman suspected to be the main organiser.

The police rescued a woman who was allegedly forced into commercial sexual exploitation and apprehended two customers during a raid on the premises at Ganga Estate on November 3.

According to police, the organiser, Sanneboina Nagamani, had rented a flat on the second floor of a building at Ganga Estate in January 2026 and started operating it under the name of ‘Sun Rise Beauty Salon and Spa’. She allegedly advertised the establishment online and recruited women by promising them monthly salaries for providing massage services.

She later allegedly threatened and forced the women into prostitution. Customers were charged between Rs 2,000 and Rs 4,000 for the services, police said.

2 customers nabbed

Acting on credible information, a team led by Panjagutta Inspector E Jahangeer Yadav raided the premises around 11 pm on November 3. During the operation, the police rescued a woman and apprehended Nagamani and two customers, identified as Shaik Mujahid and Mohammed Sohail Sikindar, both 25-year-old AC technicians from Tolichowki.

Police seized six mobile phones, a card-swiping machine and used and unused condoms from the premises.

Nagamani was arrested and produced before the XIV Additional Chief Judicial Magistrate Court at Nampally, which was requested to remand her to judicial custody. The rescued woman was sent to a rescue home through the court for rehabilitation under Section 17 of the Prevention of Immoral Traffic Act.

Notices were served to the two customers under Section 35(3) of the Bharatiya Nagarik Suraksha Sanhita (BNSS). Police are also trying to trace the absconding building owner, Praveen Goud, who is suspected of being involved in the case.
