The latest developments follow another interception reported on Thursday, November 5, when Saudi Arabia destroyed a ballistic missile launched towards the Madinah region. Houthi military spokesperson Yahya Saree denied the announcement.
Yemen’s Houthi forces, meanwhile, claimed responsibility for a drone attack on King Fahd International Airport in Dammam, Saudi Arabia, alleging that the operation disrupted air traffic at the facility.
In a separate statement, Saree claimed that Saudi warplanes had conducted 61 air raids over the preceding 24 hours across Sanaa and the Yemeni governorates of Al-Jawf, Taiz, Saada, Marib, Lahj, Al-Dhale, Ibb, Al-Hudaydah and Hajjah.
He further claimed that the cumulative number of airstrikes and missile attacks since the escalation began had reached 4,197, according to figures released by the group, and accused the Coalition of targeting civilian infrastructure.
The exchanges come amid continued military operations in Yemen, including Operation Dawn of Yemen, launched by government forces on October 5, and ongoing Houthi attacks on Saudi territory.
