The smartphone features a 200MP periscope telephoto camera, a 50MP Sony LYTIA main camera and a 50MP ultra-wide camera. Its camera system has received the DXOMARK Gold Label for imaging performance, according to the company. A dedicated EVS action sensor, described as a first for smartphones, is designed to capture fast-moving subjects with greater clarity.

The device also features AI-powered video enhancement, Dolby Vision support and advanced image stabilisation. Its 50MP front camera supports 4K video recording.

On the display front, the motorola signature 27 comes with an Extreme AMOLED Duo Tandem display, which Motorola describes as the brightest smartphone display available. It offers up to 12,000 nits of peak brightness, 1.5K resolution and Dolby Vision support. The company also claims improved energy efficiency and a longer lifespan compared with traditional AMOLED panels.

Powered by the Snapdragon 8 Elite Extreme Gen 6 Mobile Platform, the smartphone is designed to support demanding gaming, AI applications and high-speed connectivity. Its ArcticMesh cooling system features micro-diamond-infused thermal gel and a larger thermal chamber to manage heat during intensive use. The device also supports Wi-Fi 8 and promises seven years of operating system upgrades.

AI features include Google Gemini, Motorola Qira, Rambler, Create My Widget and Sign-to-Text. These tools are designed to assist with tasks, text editing, personalised widgets and accessibility. Google Gemini’s advanced capabilities are expected to roll out to supported devices in the coming months.

Another major highlight is Audio by Bang & Olufsen, making the device the only smartphone currently offering this audio partnership, according to Motorola.

The smartphone features an aluminium frame, Corning Gorilla Glass Ceramic 3 protection, military-grade durability certification and IP68 and IP69 ratings. It will be offered in PANTONE Coal Smoke and PANTONE Capulet Olive finishes.

A 7,000mAh battery powers the device, supported by 90W wired and 50W wireless charging.

Motorola has also announced plans to make the signature 27 its first smartphone to support GrapheneOS, a security-focused, open-source operating system, through a partnership with the GrapheneOS Foundation.

The motorola signature 27 will be launched in markets worldwide in the coming months, with a starting recommended retail price of $1,599. Local pricing and availability are yet to be announced.
