J&K Bank Announces 1,356 Job Vacancies for POs, Banking Associates

Srinagar- Jammu and Kashmir Bank on Friday announced 1,356 vacancies for Probationary Officers (POs) and Banking Associates, offering fresh employment opportunities to educated youth in the Union Territory.

According to recruitment notifications issued by the bank’s corporate headquarters here, the vacancies include 323 posts of Probationary Officers and 1,033 posts of Banking Associates, reported news agency KNS.

The online application process will begin on November 7 and continue till November 26, 2026. The examinations will be conducted by the Institute of Banking Personnel Selection (IBPS).

The recruitment is open exclusively to domiciles of Jammu and Kashmir, with candidates required to possess a valid domicile certificate.

The bank has stipulated that selected candidates must serve for at least five years in the zone initially allotted to them. Transfers outside the allotted zone will not be permitted during this period.

Applicants for both posts must hold a graduation degree in any discipline from a recognised university or an equivalent qualification.

The age limit has been fixed between 20 and 30 years as on January 1, 2026, with relaxations applicable to reserved categories under the prevailing rules.

Candidates who have successfully completed apprenticeship training with J&K Bank will receive an additional one-year age relaxation for Banking Associate posts. They will also be awarded additional marks equivalent to 2.5 per cent of the maximum marks in the online examination.

The selection process for Probationary Officers will comprise preliminary and main examinations, followed by an interview.

Candidates up to 10 times the number of vacancies in each category will be shortlisted for the main examination, while three times the vacancies will be called for interviews based on their performance in the mains.

Recruitment for Banking Associates will be based on an online examination conducted by IBPS.

The bank said reservations would be implemented in accordance with the Jammu and Kashmir Reservation Rules, 2005, as amended from time to time, including provisions under S.O. 176 dated March 15, 2024.

Reservations have been provided for Scheduled Castes, Scheduled Tribes, Other Backward Classes, residents of backward areas, Economically Weaker Sections and other eligible categories. Horizontal reservation will also be available for persons with benchmark disabilities, while provisions for ex-servicemen have been included in the Banking Associate recruitment.

The bank has made verification of educational qualifications, age, domicile and category certificates mandatory before appointment.

Candidates will also have to submit a self-declaration regarding their character and antecedents. The bank has reserved the right to cancel candidature or appointment in cases of material misrepresentation or specified criminal convictions.

Eligible candidates can apply through the Careers section of the bank’s official website, jkb.bank.in. Dates for examinations, issuance of admit cards and declaration of results will be notified separately.
