Warangal: A married woman allegedly died by suicide along with her two minor daughters at famous tourist spot, Pakhal Lake in the district on Saturday.

According to sources, the deceased woman Mamata (30) of Elukurthi Haveli village in Geesugonda mandal had an inter-caste love marriage with Erelly Suman of the same village. The couple had two daughters.

It was alleged Suman has been having an extramarital affair with another woman for some time. It led to frequent quarrels between the couple. A panchayat was said to have been held in the presence of village elders a week ago in this regard, but yielded no result.

Mamata was upset as the family dispute could not be resolved and her husband’s family members were abusing her. She reached Pakhal Lake, 35 km away from her village, took a boating ticket and jumped into it along with her two daughters Harini and Junnu.

On receiving the information from the locals, East Zone DCP Ankit Kumar Sankhwar, Duggondi CI Shankaraiah, Khanapuram SI Rammohan along with their staff reached the spot and took up an investigation. The bodies were retrieved and shifted to Narsampet Government Hospital.
