Hyderabad: Relatives of 42-year-old cab driver Sativada Chinnarao, a resident of YSR Nagar, Thatichetlapalem, Visakhapatnam, donated his organs to needy patients under the State-run Jeevandan organ donation initiative after doctors declared him brain dead.

On October 14, Chinnarao felt dizzy, lost consciousness and collapsed on the road near Bodakunta, Balapur, while returning from a salon after getting a haircut. He was immediately shifted to a private hospital in Hyderabad for emergency treatment. Despite the best efforts of doctors, his condition did not improve, and he was declared brain dead on Sunday, October 25.

Chinnarao’s wife, Madhu, made the heartfelt decision to donate his two kidneys, liver and two corneas, helping five patients in need.

Jeevandan Telangana expressed its gratitude to Chinnarao’s family for their noble decision, which helped save lives.
