Nalgonda: A bike rally was taken out in Nalgonda town on Tuesday, October 27, to honour police personnel who laid down their lives in the line of duty as part of the Police Martyrs’ Commemoration Week. District Superintendent of Police Sharath Chandra Pawar flagged off the rally from the District Police Office.

The rally proceeded through NG College, Ramagiri and Clock Tower, highlighting the sacrifices made by police personnel in protecting the country and safeguarding public life and property.

Speaking on the occasion, Pawar said 154 police personnel across the country, including four from Telangana, had laid down their lives this year. Their sacrifices in maintaining law and order and ensuring public safety would remain an inspiration to future generations, he said.

Police personnel faced several challenges and risks while discharging their duties, with public safety remaining their primary responsibility. The best tribute to the martyrs would be to uphold their ideals and provide better services to the people, he added.

The SP said the objective of the commemoration week was to familiarise the public with the sacrifices of police personnel and create awareness about their services and the challenges they faced in the line of duty. He urged people to cooperate with the police, respect the law and contribute to maintaining peace and order in society.

The district police were organising various awareness programmes during the week to highlight the contributions of police martyrs and honour their families.

Additional SP Ramesh, 12th Battalion Additional Commandant Nageswara Rao, Nalgonda DSP Shivaram Reddy, AR DSP Srinivasulu, inspectors, reserve inspectors, sub-inspectors and other police personnel participated in the rally.
