OGH medical services affected as junior doctors resume protest

Hyderabad: Medical services at Osmania General Hospital (OGH) took a hit, as junior doctors resumed their agitation on Tuesday over several issues related to infrastructure deficiencies in the hospital and delayed payment of stipends.

During the first phase of agitation by medicos on October 12 and 13, the State government and health authorities had assured them that efforts would be made to resolve their genuine concerns within 10-days.

The medicos on Tuesday said that none of the issues have been resolved, which forced them to resume the agitation. The medicos are raising concerns over persistent deficiencies in infrastructure, essential medical facilities, and critical healthcare resources in Osmania Medical College and its affiliated hospitals.

In view of the lack of visible progress, Osmania T-JUDA has been compelled to resume its agitation today to ensure that these long-pending issues receive the urgent attention they deserve, medicos in a press release said.

“We sincerely hope that the assurances given will translate into concrete action and visible improvements across Osmania Medical College and all its affiliated hospitals,” the protesting junior doctors on Tuesday said.
