Register before Nov 6 deadline for Graduate MLC electoral rolls: BRS leader Sohail

Hyderabad: BRS leader Shaik Abdullah Sohail on Wednesday appealed to eligible graduates across the Mahabubnagar-Rangareddy-Hyderabad and Warangal-Khammam-Nalgonda Graduates’ Legislative Council constituencies to register themselves as voters before the November 6 deadline.

He said fresh registration was mandatory even for those who had voted in previous Graduate MLC elections, as the electoral rolls were being prepared afresh.

In a statement, Sohail urged graduates, including young professionals, employees, entrepreneurs and job-seekers, to complete the registration process without waiting until the last date. He expressed concern that many eligible graduates might remain unaware of the requirement for separate enrolment in the Graduates’ constituencies.

“Many graduates believe that since they voted in the previous MLC election, their names will automatically be included in the electoral rolls. This is incorrect. Every eligible graduate must submit a fresh Form-18 application. Similarly, having a regular voter ID for Assembly or Lok Sabha elections does not automatically make someone a Graduate MLC voter,” he said.
