Hyderabad teen, who also won gold, in Guinness taekwondo record

Hyderabad: A 13-year-old taekwondo practitioner from the city’s Amberpet area is among 533 participants in a Guinness World Record for the largest taekwondo lesson.
Armaan Nazeemuddin, a Class 8 student, took part in the record-setting session held in Hyderabad on August 9.
The world record
Guinness World Records credits the record to Jayanth Reddy International Taekwondo Academy and Suman Art Theatres.
The 533 practitioners performed for 35 minutes without a break at the Gachibowli Indoor Stadium. The previous benchmark was 302 participants.
The record counts the number of people taking active part in a single taekwondo lesson at one venue, organised by one body. It is the second Guinness title for the two organisers together, after an earlier record for the largest karate display.
Gold in Bangkok
The record follows a gold medal Armaan won earlier this year at the 12th Tirak Taekwondo International Tournament in Bangkok, Thailand, his family said.
The tournament was held at Fashion Island in Bangkok on May 30. It is organised by Tirak Taekwondo, an academy approved by World Taekwondo.
According to his family, Armaan has won gold medals at several other international competitions in the past few years. His family and coaches said he has trained every day since he was very young, and credited his discipline and dedication to the sport for his results.
