According to Telangana Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) officials, Inspector K Venkateswarlu, working in the Legal Metrology Department, demanded the bribe money for verifying certificates already issued and the handover of the petrol bunk’s daily sales register.

The other accused, Kasaram Ravinder, a petrol pump technician, allegedly collected the bribe on the inspector’s behalf. Of the total amount, Rs 15,000 was meant for Venkateswarlu, and the remainder for Ravinder, the ACB said.

Both accused were being produced before the Principal Special Judge for SPE and ACB cases at Nampally for judicial remand.
