Hyderabad: The Cyberabad Traffic Police are planning to implement a one-way loop system to ease traffic congestion in the Hi-Tech City, Biodiversity and Knowledge City areas.

The proposed system aims to reduce delays at four major bottleneck junctions and ensure smoother vehicular movement during morning and evening peak hours.

Under the plan, a continuous one-way corridor will connect Biodiversity Junction, IKEA Rotary, Raheja Mindspace C-Gate, Knowledge City and Dallas Centre before taking a right turn at My Home Bhooja and reconnecting with Biodiversity Junction. The proposal envisages utilising the full carriageway width to minimise junction delays and improve traffic flow.

Cyberabad Police Commissioner M. Ramesh, Joint Commissioner of Police (Traffic) Sunpreet Singh, senior traffic police officers and SCSC CEO Naveed Khan, along with his team, inspected the proposed route on Wednesday to assess road infrastructure and identify junction-level challenges.

Cyberabad CP M Ramesh said that traffic simulation trials will be conducted in the coming days to assess vehicle speeds and traffic density under the proposed arrangement. The police will also hold consultations with IT companies, business establishments and other stakeholders to gather feedback before finalising the plan.

Ramesh said the system would be implemented in phases after considering stakeholder suggestions and finalising the execution strategy.

He added that comprehensive traffic advisories and details of route diversions would be announced well in advance to help commuters plan their journeys and minimise inconvenience during implementation.
