Sangareddy: Telangana Tribal Welfare Residential Educational Institutions Society (TGWREIS) is organising a four-day unique painting workshop “Chitradhara” for students from seven degree colleges and one law college of TGWREIS at its degree college premises at Peddakanjerla near Patancheru.

The students will be taught the art forms of the Naikpode, Koya, Gond, and Lambada tribes. Experts from the Tribal Cultural Research and Training Institute (TCRTI) will train the students on paintings associated with one of these four tribes on each of these four days. Ensuring students participate in the workshop is a priority, rather than just confining them to theoretical teachings alone.

Secretary of TGWREIS, K Seetha Mahalakshmi, who visited the workshop on Wednesday, interacted with the students and trainers to review the progress of the programme. She observed that students’ involvement in extracurricular activities boost their morale. Joint Director DS Venkanna, and others were present.
