Hyderabad: The Women Safety Wing (WSW) of Telangana Police launched a two-day Training of Trainers (ToT) programme under the #StandWithHer campaign at Osmania University on Thursday to promote women’s safety, gender equality, consent and respectful relationships.

Faculty members and students representing degree colleges are participating in the programme. OU Vice-Chancellor Prof Kumar Molugaram, Charu Sinha and Asiya Shervani, Head of Training and Content Development, Women Safety Wing, attended the inaugural session.

Charu Sinha said women’s safety required more than law enforcement and called for a change in social attitudes and everyday behaviour. Prof Kumar Molugaram highlighted the responsibility of educational institutions in creating safe and inclusive campuses.

The training focuses on consent, personal boundaries, empathy, communication, active listening and handling difficult conversations. It aims to equip participants to conduct awareness sessions in their institutions.

Four batches comprising over 250 participants will undergo training. The initiative aims to reach more than 2,000 people over the next six months through these trained facilitators, promoting safety, dignity and accountability across educational institutions in Telangana.
