BRS leader Abdul Muqeet Chanda seeks deadline for clearing minority scholarship dues

Hyderabad: BRS Minority Cell General Secretary Abdul Muqeet Chanda criticised the Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy over delays in releasing post-matric scholarships and tuition fee reimbursement dues to minority students, demanding a deadline for clearing the arrears.

He also appealed to eligible graduates to enrol for the Graduate MLC elections and hold the Congress government accountable through the ballot.

Muqeet Chanda said prolonged delays in releasing educational assistance were pushing thousands of minority students and their families into financial distress and jeopardising their academic prospects. “Scholarships are not charity but legitimate support for students from economically weaker families,” he said.

The government’s handling of the scholarship issue was discouraging students from applying for educational assistance, he alleged. The declining number of applications since 2024, he said, raised concerns that students were gradually losing confidence in the scholarship system.

Separately, Muqeet Chanda appealed to eligible graduates in the Mahabubnagar-Rangareddy-Hyderabad and Warangal-Khammam-Nalgonda Graduates’ Legislative Council constituencies to register as voters before the November 6 deadline. He also called upon BRS workers and student leaders to spread awareness about the registration process.
