Lucknow Visit: Amit Shah Arrives for Major UP BJP Workers’ Meeting

Union Home Minister Amit Shah arrived in Lucknow for a major meeting with Uttar Pradesh BJP workers and leaders ahead of the 2027 Assembly elections. He was accompanied by Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath, state BJP president Pankaj Chaudhary and Deputy Chief Ministers Brajesh Pathak and Keshav Prasad Maurya. Around 2,850 party workers reportedly attended the event, including MPs, MLAs, ministers, newly appointed state executive members, district-level representatives and booth-level workers. Upon arriving, Shah greeted the workers seated in the packed hall before taking his place on the stage. He then participated in the ceremonial lighting of the lamp, marking the formal beginning of the programme. Yogi Adityanath and other leaders also took part in the ceremony. Workers raised slogans such as “Vande Mataram” and “Bharat Mata Ki Jai” during the proceedings. Party workers expressed hopes of securing a bigger victory in the 2027 Assembly elections than the BJP achieved in 2017. Shah’s visit is intended to provide organisational guidance and discuss the party’s electoral preparations. According to the report, he was expected to spend approximately three and a half hours in Lucknow, including time at the main event and a separate interaction with party workers, before returning to Delhi.
