No one stopping Congress workers from Delhi rally: Ramchander Rao

Hyderabad: Telangana Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) president N Ramchander Rao on Friday, October 30, dismissed claims that Congress supporters are being stopped from travelling to Delhi for the party’s Ramlila Maidan protest, saying “no one will stop these people.”
Speaking to the news agency ANI, Rao said the Congress was building a “false, concocted story” because it was not confident of drawing a crowd in the national capital. “Wherever they want to go, they can go. But the only problem is that they are spreading false narratives and false theories in the public,” he said.
The protest, planned for Sunday, November 1, is being held against the Special Intensive Revision (SIR) of electoral rolls and the Election Commission of India (ECI).
Rao described the event as “only a political drama” without people’s support. He alleged that its purpose was to “defame the constitutional institutions like the ECI and the Supreme Court”. He also called Congress leaders Rahul Gandhi and Mallikarjun Kharge, along with their colleagues, “anarchist forces in the country”.
Defending the SIR, the BJP leader said the exercise had been conducted properly and was a “non-issue” for the people. He claimed a Congress minister in Karnataka had himself said there were no deletions in the SIR. Rao did not name the minister, and the claim could not be independently verified. He questioned why the Congress was then blaming the Election Commission.
Meanwhile, on the call of the All India Congress Committee (AICC), a group of party workers from Husnabad in Siddipet district left for Delhi by bus to join the INDIA bloc protest against the Election Commission and the BJP.
