Hyderabad: A 17-year-old Intermediate student sustained serious head injuries in a fight with his three roommates at the Sri Chaitanya College hostel in Hyderabad.

The dispute began when one of the students returned to the hostel from home and found that Rs 2,500 he had left in the room was missing.

He reportedly asked his three roommates about the money and proposed that they split the loss equally.

Initially, all three agreed to contribute. Two of them paid their shares, but the 17-year-old allegedly neither paid his amount nor responded to them.

On Thursday, the three thrashed the teenager. He sustained head injuries and lost consciousness during the fight.

The college management rushed him to a nearby private hospital, where he is undergoing treatment in the intensive care unit (ICU). His condition is reported to be stable.

Meanwhile, Medipally police registered a case and are investigating.
