The political confrontation over Chief Election Commissioner Gyanesh Kumar intensified as INDIA bloc leaders held an impeachment-style public proceeding at Congress president Mallikarjun Kharge’s residence. The opposition levelled allegations against the CEC over the Special Intensive Revision (SIR) of electoral rolls, including claims of large-scale voter deletions, changes to Form 6 and alleged political interference.
