BRS warns Revanth Reddy against selling prime lands in Hyderabad

Hyderabad: With Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy announcing plans to monetise valuable public lands in Miyapur, Kancha Gachibowli and other places, the Bharat Rashtra Samithi (BRS) has warned him against any such attempts. The party opposed the sale of valuable public lands for the government’s real estate ventures and demanded that the disputed Miyapur lands be used for the benefit of the poor and for public infrastructure.

Accusing the Chief Minister of continuing to act like a realtor despite holding the highest public office, MLC Dasoju Sravan said the government should not turn public assets into a source of commercial deals. “We will not remain silent if lands are sold off in the name of development and fresh deals are pursued,” he said.

Referring to the Miyapur land controversy, he said Rangareddy Collector Narayana Reddy had already clarified that the dispute had been pending since 1995. He advised the Chief Minister to study the Collector’s observations and relevant court orders instead of making statements against the previous BRS government and former Chief Minister K Chandrashekhar Rao by allegedly hiding facts and misleading people for political goals.

Sravan said Revanth Reddy was exercising control over nearly seven lakh acres within the jurisdictions of various development authorities, including the proposed Bharat Future City. He accused the Chief Minister and his associates of attempting to take over valuable lands and transfer titles through wrongful actions.

He said the Miyapur lands should be put to use for the poor rather than being sold or diverted for commercial purposes. He also accused the Chief Minister of deflecting criticism by invoking the name of former Chief Minister K Chandrashekhar Rao.
