PB Fintech reported a net profit of Rs 192.4 crore in the second quarter of FY27 as compared to Rs 135 crore in the similar period of last fiscal. The revenues for the second quarter came in at Rs 2177.7 crore.
According to the company, it recorded a total insurance premium of Rs 9,385 crore for the second quarter which was a 38% year-on-year (YoY) growth. The company has around 5.5 lakh insurance advisors, which grew by 1.3 lakh during the quarter. According to the company, these distributors helped expand insurance access across smaller towns and cities, which contributed to 76 percent of overall gross written premium for the quarter.
This performance comes in the backdrop of Insurance Regulatory Development Authority (IRDA) proposal to lower the commissions earned by insurance agents and this could have an impact on the overall growth trajectory of PB Fintech.
On leveraging artificial intelligence (AI) in its operations, the company said it has 10 crore customer interactions every day. Around 21 lakh calls are processed daily which are 100% AI processed where the talk time exceeds 60 seconds across 7 Indian languages. It does 17 lakh minutes of conversation per day with 8x deeper analysis with AI.
The company processes seven lakh documents per day and this resulted in savings of 1,000 hours daily.
The changes due to AI have seen 15% plus productivity improvement in insurance advisors through AI-driven intent calling and 20% improvement in conversion.
