Hyderabad: Mountaineer Yashwanth Bhukya from Telangana has successfully summited Mount Kalsubai (1,646 metres/5,400 feet), the highest peak in Maharashtra, located in the Sahyadri ranges of the Western Ghats.

Popularly known as the Everest of Maharashtra, the mountain is renowned for its rugged trekking trails, panoramic landscapes and the temple dedicated to Goddess Kalsubai at its summit.

The expedition is part of Yashwanth’s ambitious “Har Shikhar Par Tiranga” mission to scale the highest peaks of all 28 Indian States and the seven continents, carrying the Indian Tricolour to each summit. With this achievement, he continues his journey of promoting patriotism, adventure, perseverance and youth empowerment.

On this occasion, Yashwanth dedicated his Mount Kalsubai summit to Sanjay Bahadur, IRS, Member, Central Board of Direct Taxes (CBDT), Department of Revenue, Ministry of Finance, Government of India, in recognition of his encouragement, guidance, blessings and invaluable support.

Speaking about the dedication, Yashwanth said: “Throughout my journey, I have approached many people seeking support and sponsorship for my expeditions. There have been times when finding support was difficult, but Mr Sanjay Bahadur Ji came forward and encouraged me when I needed it. His kindness, support and blessings have given me immense strength, and I will always remain grateful to him.”

“What I value most about him goes far beyond financial or material support. One of the greatest lessons I have learnt from him is how to treat every individual with kindness, dignity and respect, irrespective of their position or circumstances. His humility and the way he treats people have made a lasting impression on me,” Yashwanth said.

“For me, Shri Sanjay Bahadur Ji is one such person. I have immense respect for him, and I honestly do not have enough words to express my gratitude for everything he has done for me,” he said.

“I wanted to dedicate an achievement that is meaningful to me as a humble expression of my respect and appreciation for him. Today, standing on the highest peak of Maharashtra, I dedicate this summit to Shri Sanjay Bahadur Ji, with heartfelt gratitude for his support, encouragement and blessings. This is my small way of thanking someone whose kindness and guidance I will always cherish,” he said.

For Yashwanth, the Mount Kalsubai summit is not merely another milestone in his mountaineering journey. It is also a personal expression of gratitude to someone whose encouragement and values have made a meaningful difference in his life. He believes that while summits are reached through determination and hard work, the people who stand beside us along the journey make those achievements even more meaningful.
