Royal Enfield sold all 125 units of the Hypershift Classic 650 125th Anniversary Edition allocated to India in less than six minutes

Royal Enfield has sold the full domestic allocation of the 125th Anniversary Edition of the Classic 650 in less than six minutes. Only 125 motorcycles were assigned to India and customer deliveries are scheduled to start as early as November. The limited production run model celebrates 125 years of Royal Enfield and gets several custom elements.

The visual changes are far more extensive as you might expect. The Hypershift finish uses a brass base and shifts between red, green and gold depending on the angle of light. Royal Enfield has also added a gilded 125 Years crest, anniversary-specific side panel badges and hand-painted pinstripes. A brown leather single seat with quilted stitching further distinguishes the commemorative model from the regular Classic 650.

A teardrop-shaped fuel tank, nacelle-like headlamp and rounded bodywork retain the established overall look of the retro motorcycle but the anniversary graphics and metallic paint treatment enhance the exclusivity considerably. The engine receives a matte black finish as well. With no performance changes, the familiar powertrain and mechanical bits carry over.

Power comes from the 647.95 cc parallel-twin Fi engine used by the regular Classic 650. The air- and oil-cooled SOHC unit produces 46.3 hp maximum power at 7,250 rpm and 52.3 Nm of peak torque delivered at 5,650 rpm. A six-speed constant mesh gearbox transfers power to the wheel. The motorcycle is underpinned by a steel tubular spine frame.

Other highlights are a 43 mm telescopic fork at the front offering 120 mm of travel and twin rear shock absorbers providing 90 mm of travel. The Royal Enfield Classic 650 rides on a 19-inch front wheel and an 18-inch rear wheel – fitted with 100/90 and 140/70 tyres respectively. Braking duties are handled by a 320 mm front disc and a 300 mm rear disc – supported by dual-channel ABS.

Its wheelbase measures 1,475 mm while LED lighting is used at the front and rear, and a USB Type-C charging point is part of the equipment list. The ex-showroom price of the 125th Anniversary Edition Hypershift Classic 650 was listed at Rs. 4,25,589 (ex-showroom).
