Former Chhattisgarh Chief Minister Bhupesh Baghel arrived at Congress president Mallikarjun Kharge’s residence at 10 Rajaji Marg, where Samajwadi Party chief Akhilesh Yadav, Ram Gopal Yadav, Randeep Surjewala and other Opposition leaders were also present ahead of the INDIA alliance rally. Speaking to ABP News, Baghel questioned the claim that the rally would hurt traders, arguing that visitors coming to Delhi would also shop and contribute to local business. He compared the event with political rallies held by BJP leaders in busy markets and questioned why those events did not attract similar criticism. Baghel also urged trader organisations to raise concerns over alleged voter deletions, claiming that 48 lakh names had been removed from Delhi’s electoral rolls during the SIR exercise. He called for Chief Election Commissioner Gyanesh Kumar to resign and questioned why trader bodies had not written to him or the Prime Minister. Meanwhile, former Congress leader Adhir Ranjan Chowdhury described the rally as historic and claimed that several thousand people would arrive from West Bengal. Responding to the BJP’s description of the Opposition gathering as a “fair of fraudsters,” Chowdhury dismissed the remark as jealousy.
