Tata sold 75,426 units in October 2026 as domestic sales rose 21 per cent and EV volume climbed 75 per cent

Tata Motors Passenger Vehicles (TMPV) registered 75,426 units across domestic and international markets in October 2026 as sales rose 23 per cent from 61,295 units a year earlier. The company added 14,131 units over October 2025 which was supported primarily by higher domestic PV volumes and a sizeable jump in zero-emission vehicle sales.

The monthly result also kept Tata firmly among the largest passenger vehicle manufacturers in India as it finished second behind Maruti Suzuki. The local business delivered 73,894 units compared to 61,134 units in October 2025 with a 21 per cent year-on-year increase. Electric vehicles delivered one of the key numbers in the October volume table.

Tata sold 16,244 EVs across India and overseas markets compared to 9,286 units a year earlier as volumes rose 75 per cent. The increase added 6,958 units year-on-year and pushed EVs to more than one-fifth of Tata’s total passenger car sales for the month. The company remained as the best-selling EV maker in India ahead of Mahindra.

The international passenger vehicle business posted the largest percentage increase in the provided data for the brand. Tata shipped 1,532 vehicles overseas compared to only 161 units in October 2025 producing an 852 per cent year-on-year increase. As the domestic business reached nearly 74,000 units, EVs also became a far larger part of Tata’s monthly volumes than a year ago.

Electric vehicle sales rose by almost 7,000 units compared to October 2025 while the overall PV volume increased by 14,131 units. The 23 per cent overall increase came from gains across all three areas, domestic sales, international business and EV sales. The Punch and Nexon lead the sales numbers for the brand and the former received a mid-life update for its ICE and electric versions earlier this year.
