Pollution Emergency: GRAP-4 Enforced Across Delhi-NCR, BS3 and BS4 Vehicles Barred From Entry

Image: ABP Live

Delhi has implemented GRAP-4 restrictions in response to rising air pollution, with strict checks underway at the borders to prevent non-compliant vehicles from entering the city. Vehicles below BS6 standards, including BS3 and BS4 vehicles, are barred from entry, while CNG, electric and BS6 vehicles, along with certain essential-service vehicles, are permitted under the stated exemptions. Delhi Traffic Police and transport department teams have been deployed at several border points, including Ghazipur, to inspect incoming vehicles. The report also highlights the enforcement of the ‘No PUC, No Fuel’ rule at petrol pumps, under which vehicles without valid Pollution Under Control certificates should not receive fuel. However, ABP News conducted a reality check and found gaps in implementation. A petrol pump representative said a government-appointed employee responsible for checking PUC certificates does not report at a fixed time and is not present every day. Staff also alleged that customers sometimes argue when asked to show their certificates. The report raises questions about the consistency of pollution-control enforcement.
