Drunk man strangles 5-year-old son to death in Hyderabad
Hyderabad: In a shocking incident, a 36-year-old man allegedly strangled his five-year-old son to death while under the influence of alcohol at Shilpinagar in Borabanda on Sunday night, November 1.
The incident reportedly took place around 10 pm, when the accused, identified as Vidyasagar, allegedly strangled his son Vijay at their house. His wife, Durga, was away at the time, attending catering work.
Durga returned home in the early hours of Sunday and was shocked to find her son dead. She alerted neighbours, who informed the police about the incident.
Speaking to Siasat.com, the Borabanda police said, “We received information regarding the incident on Monday, November 2, and registered a case of murder under Section 103 (1) of the BNS.” The accused is currently absconding.
The body was shifted for postmortem examination. Police have launched a search for the accused and are investigating the circumstances that led to the child’s death.
