Hyderabad: Commuters in the city can now enjoy comfortable air-conditioned travel across the city without having to travel to the airport.
The Telangana State Road Transport Corporation (TGSRTC) has extended the facility of its Pushpak AC buses to regular passengers, allowing them to board and get off at designated stops along the airport routes.

Previously considered a premium transport option primarily for airport bound passengers, Pushpak buses are now available to ordinary commuters at a minimum fare of Rs.100.

The move offers passengers an alternative to private vehicles and cabs, particularly during extreme summer heat and the rainy season.

TGSRTC operates Pushpak services on three major routes with different frequencies. On the AL Route, the service is operated every 20 minutes from JBS/Sangeet through Uppal, LB Nagar, Mandamallamma and Balapur before reaching Rajiv Gandhi International Airport (RGIA).

The AC Route at every 30 minutes has services run from JBS/Secunderabad Railway Station via Paryatak Bhavan, NMDC, Mehdipatnam and Aramghar to the airport.

On the AA Route, buses every hour are operated from JBS/Secunderabad Railway Station through Ranigunj, Secretariat, Assembly, Nampally Railway Station, Afzalgunj, Bahadurpura and Aramghar.

Under the extended facility, passengers need not travel all the way to the airport to use Pushpak services. They can board at any designated stop along these routes and get down at another stop by paying the applicable fare, starting at a mere Rs.100.

The initiative is expected to benefit office-goers and other regular commuters travelling along these corridors.

With air-conditioned interiors and scheduled services, Pushpak buses offer a comfortable alternative to travelling in personal vehicles or booking cabs.

TGSRTC officials have encouraged commuters to make use of the facility.
