Hyderabad: The Telangana AI and Cloud Skilling Initiative (TASK) and Amazon Web Services (AWS) signed an agreement on Monday, November 2, which would pave the way for free AI and cloud computing training for one lakh students across the state.

Speaking on the occasion, Minister for IT and Industries D. Sridhar Babu said students from 643 TASK-affiliated colleges would receive industry-oriented training in AI, cloud computing, data engineering, machine learning and generative AI.

Alongside engineering and science students, those pursuing non-STEM courses, such as arts and commerce, will be offered specialised learning tracks.

Students enrolled in the programme will receive one year free access to more than 900 digital courses through AWS Skill Builder. Discount vouchers for global certification examinations will also be provided.

There will be industry-connect sessions with technology experts and hackathons, offering students practical exposure and opportunities to interact with industry professionals.

Sridhar Babu said TASK would organise special job fairs for eligible students who complete the training programme. Faculty members from participating colleges will also be trained in AI and cloud technologies, he added.

Among those present at the event were ITE&C Joint Secretary Anudeep Durishetty, State Council of Higher Education Chairman Prof. V Balakista Reddy, TASK CEO Nitin Reddy, AWS India and South Asia President Sandeep Dutta, Head of Education and Skills Abhinav, Country Manager (Skilling & Social Impact) Pratibha, and AWS Academy TPM Akanksha Rai Sharma.
