Hyderabad: The Malkajgiri SOT, along with local police, has foiled an alleged murder conspiracy and arrested five persons who were reportedly planning to kill a man named Arfaj in revenge for the murder of their associate in Uppal on Monday.

The arrested persons were identified as T Thanay Kumar alias Kanna, Shaik Akbar, Aditya Kumar Thakur, Dudani Laxman Singh alias Sonu and Vadtya Venkatesh alias Nani.

Police said the suspects were nabbed in the early hours, when discussing their plan at an open place near the Musi River, behind Uppal Shilparamam.

According to police, the suspects were followers of Dasari Surender alias Suri, who was allegedly murdered by Arfaj in July 2026. After Arfaj was recently released from jail, they allegedly conspired to eliminate him in retaliation.

Police said two of the suspects transferred Rs 35,000 to another suspect, Aditya Kumar Thakur, who allegedly procured two pistols and bullets from Bihar for Rs 30,000 and brought them to Hyderabad to execute the murder plan.

Officials seized two country-made pistols, eight bullets, three knives, and vehicles from them.
