Hyderabad: Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy has directed irrigation officials to maintain cordial relations with the Maharashtra government and continue discussions on the proposed Tummidihatti barrage.

The Chief Minister said Telangana would not object to Maharashtra conducting an independent survey to assess the extent of land that could be submerged. He directed officials to provide all the information sought by Maharashtra without delay.

Revanth Reddy, along with Irrigation Minister N Uttam Kumar Reddy, held a review meeting on the proposed barrage in Hyderabad on Tuesday.

He instructed officials to keep comprehensive details of the areas likely to be submerged ready. He also stressed the need to share all relevant documents, including existing agreements and details of other important issues, with the Maharashtra government.

“The government is prepared to provide adequate compensation for any land in Maharashtra that may be affected by submergence. We are ready to deposit funds into a joint account of the two State governments,” Revanth Reddy said.
