Hyderabad: Hyderabadi Venkatesan Karuppanan will embark on a journey chasing yet another gold when he competes in the INBA PNBA Pro/Am World Cup in California (US) from November 6 to 7 and then in the Pinnacle Pro/Am Natural Olympia championship in Las Vegas (US) from November 12 to 15.

“It is a great honour and privilege for me to eceive this international invitation and represent my country on a global platform. This opportunity reflects my dedicatiion, discipline, hard work and commitment to natural bodybuilding,” says 49-year-old Venkatesan. “I am grateful sponsored by Mr. Kumar Mannava, Co-founder of THE ONE Fitness Studio Jubilee Hills, Hyderabad. My heartfelt thanks for the generous support and making this trip possible,” he said. For the record, Venkatesan won gold in the Classic Bodybuilding category and finished third overall in the ‘Natural Mr World Championship’ in Los Angeles last week and happened to be the only one from India to win a medal in this championship.

“These competitions are natural (drug-tested events) and the athletes are tested with the IOC standards, the World Anti-Dopin Agency (WADA) administers urine and blood testing,” he said. “It is a huge challenge to be a vegan in the US as finding fodder and working out after jet lags also poses a different kind of challenge,” Venkatesan said.
