UP Political Battle: BJP Launches 'Save Democracy' March in Three Cities Ahead of 2027 Polls

Political tensions are escalating in Uttar Pradesh as the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) prepares to take its battle against the opposition to the streets through a series of marches in three major cities. Under the banner of 'Save Democracy, Remove Anarchy', the party is organising marches in Gorakhpur, Prayagraj and Kanpur, with senior BJP leaders leading the campaign. BJP national president Nitin Nabin is scheduled to participate in a march in Gorakhpur, Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath's political stronghold. Deputy Chief Ministers Keshav Prasad Maurya and Brajesh Pathak will lead the marches in Prayagraj and Kanpur, respectively. A large number of BJP workers are expected to join the campaign and reach out to the public. The marches come amid an intensifying political confrontation over the Special Intensive Revision (SIR) of electoral rolls and the opposition's allegations against the Chief Election Commissioner. The BJP has accused opposition parties of misleading voters and spreading confusion over the voter list revision process. Through these public demonstrations, the party aims to counter the opposition's campaign and present its position directly before the people. The political atmosphere in Uttar Pradesh is already heating up ahead of the 2027 Assembly elections. Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath recently targeted the opposition over allegations of appeasement politics and lawlessness during an event in Pilibhit. Samajwadi Party chief Akhilesh Yadav hit back, accusing the BJP of being responsible for anarchy and alleging electoral irregularities. The war of words between the ruling party and opposition has intensified, with both sides attempting to strengthen their political narratives. With senior BJP leaders taking to the streets, attention is now focused on the three marches and their potential political impact ahead of the crucial 2027 Uttar Pradesh Assembly elections.
