Kothagudem: TGRTC workers are observing bandh across Khammam RTC region following the death of a female conductor who died undergoing treatment as she broke her legs when she was pushed out of a moving bus on October 25 at Manuguru in the district.

The bandh has been called until 2pm by the trade unions SWF, TWU, EU, SWU and NMU both to pay tribute to the deceased conductor Gundla Pravalika (24) and to demand strict action against those responsible for the incident.

The RTC workers staged a protest at Manuguru depot on Wednesday demanding severe punishment to the passenger Banoth Mounika of Mittagudem in Aswapuram mandal in the district. Manuguru DSP Ravinder Reddy and staff reached the depot to take stock of the situation.

The RTC workers at other depots in Khammam and Kothagudem districts also staged protests demanding justice to the deceased conductor’s family and safety of on-duty staff. Passengers faced hardship due to the combination of heavy rain and the sudden strike by the RTC workers in the region.
