Hyderabad: The craze for Pakistani drama Dar-e-Nijaat has clearly crossed borders, with Indian audiences equally hooked to the show and its characters. From celebrities to social media influencers, several big names have been praising the drama, particularly Sheheryar Munawar’s portrayal of Abu Bakr, who has become a favourite among viewers.

Amid the growing craze, an Indian fan recently drew an interesting comparison between Abu Bakr and Ajay Devgn’s character Vanraj from the 1999 Bollywood film Hum Dil De Chuke Sanam.

The fan pointed out that Indians had their own Abu Bakr back in the 90s, suggesting that both characters share similar qualities. However, the comparison did not go down well with many Indian fans of Dar-e-Nijaat.

Dar-e-Nijaat fans disagree with Vanraj-Abu Bakr comparison

Several viewers took to social media to disagree with the comparison, arguing that the two characters and their stories are entirely different.

One user commented, “No way. Both stories are different. Salman was not Zamil.”

Another wrote, “We Indians do not have to claim everything good first. Abu Bakr is original.”

A third viewer added, “They are not the same at all and Abu Bakr is way more handsome.”

How Abu Bakr is winnning Indian hearts

Written by Umera Ahmed and directed by Saqib Khan, Dar-e-Nijaat has emerged as a major talking point among Pakistani drama enthusiasts in India.

Sheheryar Munawar plays Abu Bakr, while Dur-e-Fishan Saleem and Nameer Nawaz Khan are also part of the lead cast.

Abu Bakr’s respectful, caring and compassionate personality has particularly struck a chord with viewers, with many Indian fans expressing their admiration for the character online.

New episodes of the drama air every Friday and Saturday and are available on the ARY Plus app and through its YouTube distribution channels.
