Hyderabad: Telangana is set to get Automated Driving License Test Tracks (ADTTs) at six locations as part of efforts to improve road safety and streamline the driving licence testing process. The six locations are Ibrahimpatnam and Kondapur in Rangareddy district, Uppal, Medchal and Nagole in Medchal district, and Karimnagar.

The ADTTs will be set up by Maruti Suzuki India Limited, which signed a Memorandum of Understanding with the Transport department here on Thursday. They will offer testing facilities for applicants seeking two-wheeler, light motor vehicle and heavy motor vehicle driving licences.

The ADTTs will be equipped with high-definition cameras, RFID sensors, real-time analytics and an integrated IT system to enable fully computerised, rule-based testing in compliance with the Central Motor Vehicles Rules (CMVR). The evaluation process is designed to be objective and eliminate human bias and error.

Stating that road safety remained a key priority for Telangana, Transport Commissioner K Ilambarithi said the department was working to build safer roads through technology, stronger enforcement and improved driver testing.

“The new tracks will make driving tests more transparent and efficient, while ensuring that only competent and qualified applicants are awarded driving licences,” he said.

Maruti Suzuki India Limited Corporate Affairs Senior Executive Officer Rahul Bharti said, “The ADTTs bring fairness and transparency to the licensing process by eliminating human bias.”
