Don’t believe those trying to defame me: MLC Rahmath Baig urges

Hyderabad: MLC and former All India Majlis-e-Ittehadul Muslimeen (AIMIM) member Mirza Rahmath Baig addressed the media on Saturday, November 7, regarding his ‘deepfake’ controversy and urged the public to not believe those trying to defame him.
Baig said that after he was expelled from the party, he sought legal assistance over the deepfakes targeting him. Six people were arrested after his police complaint, and the hunt for others is underway.
“You know that two days ago—as I had mentioned previously as well—some people were blackmailing me by creating fake videos of mine using AI. We had filed a complaint regarding this. Two days ago, it was exposed; the police arrested six people and sent them to jail. There are a few other people behind this whom the police are currently searching for,” he said.
He alleged that Hyderabad Youth Courage founder and now Bharat Rashtra Samithi (BRS) leader Salman Khan was conspiring against him along with his “gang”.
He expressed confidence in the police and the law and urged the public to not get provoked by the attempts to defame him.
Alleging that an attempt was being made to defame an MLA with AI audio, he said those perpetrators would also be exposed soon.
He also showed videos he received from his “blackmailers”.
