Family makes father’s fake death certificate to get govt job in Nalgonda

Hyderabad: Fourteen people, including government officials, were arrested in Nalgonda for allegedly creating a fake death certificate of a Health Department employee to secure a job under compassionate grounds for the person’s son.
Chamakari Ventakteshwarlu, a health assistant at Shaligoraram Primary Health Center, had retired on May 31 last year. On November 17 that same year, he died of a kidney ailment, TV9 reported.
After his death, his family members changed the address on his Aadhaar card and applied for another death certificate to show he had died during service, thus securing a job on compassionate grounds.
Officials and staff from the municipal, medical and health departments also helped secure the job. A deal of Rs 13 lakh was also made, the police said.
Police seized Rs 5 lakh in cash, one computer, one printer, 12 mobile phones and the deceased employee’s photograph during the investigation.
A case has been registered at Nalgonda One Town Police Station. Efforts are underway to nab two other accused.
