Videos of the incident quickly went viral on social media, showing attendees confronting the protesters. The men were later escorted out of the venue after the confrontation.

And the controversy didn't end there!

Jake Lang later took to social media and claimed that he and his associates had been assaulted by people attending the celebration. He also made inflammatory remarks against the Hindu community. These allegations have not been independently verified.

I am beyond disgusted by this vile and racist display. Diwali is an important holiday and our community should feel safe to celebrate it. This hateful display has no place in our city or this country. https://t.co/BK5PXgAw97
