Sircilla: BRS working president KT Rama Rao inaugurated medical equipment worth about Rs 30 lakh, procured through corporate social responsibility (CSR) funds, at the Rajanna Sircilla district government hospital on Monday. He criticised the Congress government for allegedly neglecting the maintenance of government hospitals and facilities developed during the previous BRS regime.

The initiative aimed to strengthen medical facilities for poor and middle-class patients who cannot afford treatment at private hospitals and improve healthcare services at the government hospital.

Separately, Rama Rao interacted with National Health Mission (NHM) employees who met him at Telangana Bhavan in Sircilla and sought his support in their fight to press the government to fulfil their demands. He urged the employees to continue their agitation and meet public representatives to explain their problems, assuring them that the party would continue to press for an immediate resolution of their grievances.

He accused the Congress government of ignoring their demands despite two weeks of protests and relay hunger strikes. He appreciated their services during the Covid-19 pandemic and extended the BRS’s moral support to their agitation.

The BRS working president accused the Congress government of failing to fulfil its assurances to employees. He recalled that the previous BRS government had extended Pay Revision Commission (PRC) benefits to contract and outsourcing employees as well.

He said the NHM State committee’s demands would be discussed with BRS president K Chandrashekhar Rao and that the party would communicate what it could do to help resolve their grievances. He also assured the employees that the BRS would raise their issues during the Assembly sessions.
